The Mobile Feed Scheme progresses towards UKAS accreditation
The NAAC’s Mobile Feed scheme is on route to reach UKAS EN 45011 accreditation,
although is a slow process the NAAC is hopeful that the scheme will reach the
accreditation by spring 2008.
The Revised Verified Seed Scheme
The NAAC launched its Verified Seed Scheme in 1999 to provide a traceable, independently
audited system for mobile seed processors. Recently, the standard has undergone a
significant review to further strengthen what is already a robust scheme, recognized
by UK farm assurance schemes.
Taking the format successfully used by the NAAC’s Mobile Feed Mixing and Processing
Scheme, Verified Seed scheme members will have to pass a generic module (based on NAAC
Code of Practice), in addition to the updated seed standard.
The NAAC is working closely with CMi to give the scheme further credibility in the
industry by reaching UKAS accreditation EN 45011 in spring/summer 2008.

ABPig’s Inclusion of the Mobile Feed Mixing and Processing Contractor’s within their scheme
ABPig’s scheme is set to include the NAAC’s Mobile Feed Scheme within its protocol
just like the ABM’s Assured Beef and Lamb scheme. This is further proof that assured
NAAC Mobile Feed contractors operating within the scheme are being recognised within
the industry.
