NAAC Insurance Scheme

NAAC Liability Insurance Scheme

Designed especially to meet the Insurance needs of Agricultural Contractors and Agrochemical suppliers.

The policy covers your Liability at Law to pay damages and costs to third parties who suffer accidental death, injury, illness or disease, or whose property is accidentally damaged as a result of your business activities.

Cover is extended to include Loss of Yield (failure of the crop to achieve the expected standard of growth or yield) and where applicable can be extended to include Failure to Germinate (Seed Dressers & Suppliers).

Advice given in respect of the sale of goods supplied or services is included where no fee for that advice is charged.
Indemnity Limits in excess of £10 million can be arranged.

To purchase Public liability Insurance for Premium saving alone can be costly for your business, as some of the following claims illustrate:

Agrochemical Suppliers

A farmer employed an agronomist to advise on the planting of a crop of potatoes. Despite soil samples being taken the chemical applied did not alleviate the presence of PCN.
The subsequent crop fell well short of expectations.
A claim for wrongful advice and loss of yield resulted.
Estimate £350,000

Agrochemical supplied to over 100 farmers and advice given in accordance with the Manufacturers instructions. The Agrochemical did not perform correctly and a Loss of Yield was suffered.
A claim is outstanding for over £1,000,000

Amenity Weed Control

A chemical was correctly applied to a river to treat weeds. The River Authority informed all users not to extract water for a certain period. However water was extracted and applied to salad crops.
A claim was successful for damaged crops.
Settled £330,000

Agricultural Contractors

A contractor was asked to desiccate potatoes. This was carried out 10 days early resulting in the crop not attaining their expected yield.
