Responsible Spraying: Good Neighbour Initiative
Pesticides are potentially hazardous to human and animal health and the environment and so,
understandably, some residents want to protect themselves and their families from exposure when
pesticides are sprayed in their locality.
The industry is currently raising awareness to these issues to ensure that spraying is carried
out responsibly and a number of publications have been issued to assist the industry.
As a contractor it is important that you have the full information from your customers to ensure
that you have access to the farmers risk assessment and are aware of any precautionary measures which
are required eg schools or notifying neighbours.
