Operator Licensing Challenge
The NAAC has written to VOSA following feedback that contractors involved in the harvesting and carting of carrots have been told they must have a standard national operators’ licence.
The NAAC has always understood that if contractors were involved in the harvesting operation and were not just hauling produce, provided the distance was not more than 15 miles then an operator licence was not required.
However, we have now asked VOSA for clarification that a contractor is entitled to move produce back to the farmer’s base without the need for an operator licence.
