Rising Costs Hit Customers’ Bills
It is clear from discussions at the Cereals event that the rising cost of fuel remains of great concern and the NAAC is continuing to do what it can to help contractors cope with price increases.
There are many options, including having a separate fuel surcharge, pricing ahead to take into account rising costs and using the customers’ fuel where agreed. None are easy options to take but it is increasingly important that contractors’ operations are costed accurately to try and ensure that they are not losing money on work (never mind making profit!).
In the latest NAAC ProContractor publication, information was included about the ABC cost calculator and this is certainly worth having a play to get a good grip on costings. The NAAC has been working hard to get the message across to Members’ customers the reasons why they should expect their contracting prices to rise and recently we have had numerous press articles published.
