Fuel Duty Increase Postponed
It is the best of a bad job, but this month the Chancellor announced that the 2p a litre increase in fuel duty that was expected to take place on 1 October 2008 will be postponed.
This is good news for all our members, both in amenity and agriculture, as rebated fuel increases will also be postponed. Admittedly, this is more a relief than a victory as we simply cannot tackle any further fuel increases, in addition to market fluctuations.
