NAAC Wins debate on Shearing!
This time of year has traditionally been a stressful time worrying about how we can successfully bring in overseas shearers—overcoming the paperwork and constant changes to guidelines! However, this year has brought a completely new immigration system and after months of meetings and correspondence with the UK Border Agency we can finally report on the new scheme and how it will affect our livestock members. Overall it is good news, particularly in reference to shearers being self-employed and the NAAC getting shearers listed as a ‘Skill shortage’. NAAC Members have been sent full guidance on how to apply for sponsorship status and the process has been successfully tested. Contact the NAAC office for more information.
