Red Diesel Update
In recent weeks the NAAC has been drafting a comprehensive ‘frequently asked questions’ guidance document with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), trying to present many of the queries that have been and are likely to be raised in understanding the HMRC’s new guidance on the use of red diesel.
There are still some points of contention to be ironed out in making clear what can (and cannot) be done using red diesel. Some of the ‘grey areas’ of use will become clearer so that all contractors will be operating on a level playing field—costing work appropriately to take into account fuel use.
