FMD: Livestock Contractors Licensed in England
Click to view EXD444(FMD)(E) license document
A general licence to allow people other than the occupier of premises or a person
employed by him to undertake contract activities in a Restricted Zone EXD444(FMD)(E)
is now in place. This means that livestock contracting operations can commence providing
the license provisions are followed including:
i) The local authority relevant to the person authorised by this licence must be informed at least forty-eight
hours in advance of the intention to carry out contract activities under the authority of this licence. The notification
should be by fax or telephone to the Trading Standards/Environmental Health Department at the County Council or relevant
Unitary Authority where there is no County Council. It must be made on a week day during working hours and can include
notification of more than one contract activity.
This means of course that before
you commence you must inform your local authority, this is very important, it's unfortunate but it is a necessity.
If for any reason you cannot read the attached document then please contact the office and we will fax it to you, alternatively click on the link below and this should take you to the licence on the Defra website.
We understand how difficult these restrictions have been for you all and would like to thank you for patience during this period.
