Contractors
carrying out work in the local authority and public utilities sector
are represented by the 'Amenity and Industrial Weed Control' section
of the NAAC.
Originally set up in 1985, the section has over 80 members primarily
involved in providing weed control services. Members also carry
out verge and hedge cutting and a range of vegetation clearance
programs for clients such as Railtrack and the power generating
industry.
A growing number of members of the NAAC are becoming involved with
Amenity work outside of specialist weed control services. These
members are organised into the areas of Grounds Maintenance, Landscaping
and Groundworks.
