This
section represents the interests of contractors operating Mobile
Milling equipment and services. First introduced to this country
in the late 1960's, there has been a recent surge in demand for
the on-farm processing of feed.
BSE and other livestock problems
related to diet and feed have increased both Producers and Consumers
awareness for a fully traceable feed system. The surge in demand
for organic produce and production systems is one symptom of this.
The mobile industry is well placed to meet all of these requirements,
producing high quality feeds directly on-farm, using the farmers
own raw materials as the basic ingredients. A short direct feed
chain, giving confidence to both Producer and Consumer.
The NAAC provides a vital resource for this industry with its varied
and unique demands in both contracting and feed regulations. The
complexity of which is ever increasing and requires careful monitoring
to ensure that regulations are applied fairly.
