To become assured, contractors have to first meet the criteria of a generic standard, followed by gaining assurance in one of 4 sector standards: verified seed processing, mobile feed milling and mixing, potato treatment or agricultural operations.

The ALBC establishes a framework of good and safe working practices, which are verified by independent auditors.
By keeping records and being able to demonstrate where seed/feed materials have been sourced from , provides customers with reassurance.
Once a contractor undertakes the assurance process, they will receive advice and support from the NAAC. The schemes are open to both NAAC members and non-members.
